Dear Co-laborers in Christ:

How wonderful it is to see the hand of God at work in Bowen Baptist Association.  We are living in some of the greatest days of God’s purpose and plan. 

At our Executive Committee meeting in July we voted to form a partnership with the Oak Valley Baptist Church of Peterstown,WVA. The pastor is Bro. Brian Frazier. This will be a 5 yr. partnership with us taking teams from our Association up to Peterstown to help with the ministry and establishing of this new work. It was started by the North American Mission Board of the SBC.

We also voted to receive the Bride of Christ Baptist Church into ourAssociation under the sponsorship of the Southwest Baptist Church. This is an African American Church that is pastored by Bro. Bernard Burke. Bernard has taken training under the GBC for planting churches and attended Southeastern Seminary inWake Forrest, NC.We are excited about the opportunity of helping start this new work. This will be the third work that the Lord has raised up in this Association in the last 2 years.  The New Life Hispanic Ministries is up and running and needs your prayers as it gets started. Pray for Bro. Jesus Bocanegra and his wife as they labor to get this work going.  We began OTC this month with an Associational-Wide Prayer Rally at First Baptist Bainbridge. We had 33 of our churches represented and had a great service. We will have done our first zone by the time you receive this paper. Pray for the Lord to raise up laborers for the harvest. We have had great participation so far. I want to thank everyone for their part in helping prepare for taking the Gospel to every home in Southwest, Ga.

Why are we doing this? First of all it is obedience to the Great Commission given by our Savior. Secondly, we are fulfilling his plan of sowing the Seed which is theWord of God.  It is insanity to expect a harvest if we have stayed in the barn and didn’t put any seed in the field. If we sow, we will reap. If we sow we will reap more than what we have sown.  If we sow we will also reap later than when we sowed the seed. These are the laws of sowing and reaping. God will bring a harvest if we sow the seed. Join in with us as we sow the Seed across Southwest Georgia.
