DIRECTOR OF MISSIONS:
Dear Co-laborers in Christ:
Praise the Lord for his continued blessings. We are so much closer to finishing the building project for Cristo te Ama. Please note the list of projects we need help on in this month’s Informer. We need some teams to step forth and help us with several tasks that will help finish the building. Please pray about what God would have you to do to help get these good folks in their building.
As we think about the Association, many might ask the question, “Do we really need the Association?” Some churches act like the Association doesn’t exist. However, by doing so they are depriving their churches of great blessings. There is so much more that we can do for the Kingdom of God if we pull together. All of us together can certainly get more done than we can by trying to do it by ourselves.
Also, there is the fellowship of the sister churches that encourages each one of us to continue on for the Lord. WE NEED EACH OTHER! Through fellowship, we are strengthened, encouraged and motivated to go on for our Lord as we see others doing the same thing that we are doing for our Lord. I always am encouraged as I go to Associational activities by just being with other brothers and sisters in Christ. Let me encourage you to get more involved in our Associational activities. We have youth meetings, senior meetings, men’s meetings, ladies meetings, RA Derby’s for all ages, Evangelistic rallies, Associational meetings, etc. All of these wonderful opportunities for fellowship and spiritual growth together are available if people will just come and participate.
Your Associational office provides Search Committee training, S.S. teacher training, Discipleship training, Resumes, Deacon training, Financial Secretary Training, Southwest Ga. Baptist Bible Institute, and many other services are available if our churches will take advantage of them. WE NEED EACH OTHER!!! I hope this will help you realize the importance of our Association. The question is though, “Is the Association biblical?” In 1 Cor. 16:1, Paul spoke of the churches of Galatia. That is inclusive of several churches in one particular geographical region of like faith and order. That is the scriptural implication of what an association is. We are 42 churches of like faith and order in the same geographical location, Southwest Georgia. We are an Association of churches that are working together to further the Kingdom of God. Let us pray for God’s continued leadership as we seek to reach the lost through Evangelism and planting new ethnic churches in our mission field.
Your servants in the Lord,
Ken and Brenda Cloud
